The Leica M8 has been at the top of my ‘wants’ list for some time now, as its truly a masterpiece of form and function. They have recently released a limited safari edition of the M8.2 digital model. The camera is done in a beautiful matte olive green color with brushed silver accents and a saddle leather strap, as well as a matching canvas and leather camera bag. The camera will be limited to 500 pieces and will have the hefty price tag of $10,000… so I will certainly not be owning this or any other Leica M series any time soon, and for now it will just be a dream.

Why would they release a limited Safari Edition with a wide angle lens? Makes no sense to me, unless you want to get up close and personal with the Lions!

Definitely nice, but the price is crazy. Especially when you can get a Ricoh or LX-3 (with Leica lens) for about 1/20th of the price. But I guess, this is what dreams are for.
