new looks at Hickey

hs_09808and while the younger, more exuberant sibling of ultra-classic US menswear line Hickey-Freeman hasn’t quite rolled out their entire spring/summer 09 line on the web just yet, Hickey has given us a hint of what’s about to hit the shelves. even though the line’s logo is a potleaf, there’s definitely nothing hippy about these designs – clean cuts, emblematic American styling, and a great pallet make Hickey an easy choice for almost any guy, and the price is quite reasonable for the quality. see more (including the phenomenal combat boots) after the jump.

  1. I hate hate hate the pot leaf logo, it needs to go. But otherwise, it looks like Hickey has some great new stuff. I think the combat boots are similar to ones they had a season previous; the bag, besides the pot leaf, looks like it might make a perfect bag (going back to my work/bike wear dichotomy between backpacks and totes/messenger bags.

  2. wow john wow. pot leafs are integral to the stylish west coast lifestyle. and to be honest my best looks always come out when my eyes are barely open. and lets not forget about all the great things pot helps with: design, music, mario kart championships and eating candy.

  3. lets let be hasty Iain my friend, I have no hate for the pot leaf itself, its just on clothing is a no-go. Mostly because having a potleaf on my clothes would limit any career advancement thus making it completely unwearable to the workplace; and also, because, to be honest, “pot culture” bores me: just a little reminiscent of hacky sacks, birkenstocks and ska music: I dont find anything shocking or bold about a bout leaf on clothing, kind of like how I would be hesitant supporting clothes with booze bottles or anything else that will fuck me up as logos. The complaint aint with the pot, its with the logo.
