KZO Autumn/Winter 2009 Collection

fall-09-collection-online8KZO is a line that has been popping up on my radar quite a bit as of late. “Located in downtown Los Angeles’ art district, KZO wishes to capture global excitement, mystery and cultural understanding with a documentary/cinematic mindset and emphasis on quality, design, product, art, photography, soundtrack and multimedia.” The Fall/Winter 2009 collection titled “Hallowed Ground” is looking great with a true outdoors vibe inspired by the works of John Muir who was a poet, author and artist who was also an early advocate for the preservation of the U.S. wilderness. The collection consists of some great looking outerwear, shirts, flannels, knits and sweaters. Also I don’t know what it is but I am really into the front pocket cargo pants right now? More looks after the jump…

with only 4 or so days left until I move across the country, my blog output may slow a bit until I touch down in MTL.. that being said, here’s a song I’ve been playing on repeat, making lists and packing boxes.

wants and needs: Lightpot

lightpot-1_sjjhw_58

created by the designers at Shulab, this indoor LED-lit pot would look great on the bedside table. I’ve always been super in to plants as the ultimate apartment decor, but have always seemed to struggle with good lighting. this solves both.

Rick Owens ‘Rules of Style’

rick-owensAmerican born, Parisian based fashion designer Rick Owens was recently featured on Details ‘Rules of Style.’ Owens is an amazing designer know for his avant garde and his “glamor meets grunge” styling.  I couldn’t agree more with most of if not all of his ‘rules’. He really keeps it simple and plain, and by that I mean wearing no accessories at all, black layered with black… “There’s something a little too chatterboxy about color. Right now I want black, for its sharpness and punctuation.” He also touches on working out and keeping fit, and if you are looking for a way around the current economic crisis and having to buy new clothing here are some simple words to live by – “No outfit is going to make you look or feel as good as having a fit body. Buy less clothing and go to the gym instead.”

United Bamboo Fall 2009

United Bamboo Men's FW09 PDFUnited Bamboo is a line I have heard and seen very little of, a bit here and there but I have never taken the time to look in depth.  I checked the Spring collection in the last issue of Gap men’s and was very pleased with the line. So I was happy to see the Fall 2009 collection popping up on the internet yesterday.. the line is looking great with a very toned down, muted color pallet, and I think works so well for fall. The pieces look to be a nicely tailored with great looking outerwear, suiting, and trousers. The pieces are ones that you could wear for years, staples basically, which in these tough economic times are needed. More pics from the collection after the jump…
