Its been a minute since we did a Throwback post so I decided to flip it up a bit and post some old footage of Kaws producing his first bus stop advertisements in NYC. This is what helped to gain Kaws a lot of press and exposure in the early stages of his career. He would remove the existing ad and customizing it with his characteristic style of crossed out eyes and his cartoon skull and bones characters and place them back in the ad space with a new look. Kaws is a well established artist and designer nowadays, from his clothing line Original Fake to his many many different collaborations. Kaws has made his mark in the art world and fashion industry and it all started from these poster ads that he did in the late 90′s.
