Edwin Fall/Winter 2009 Lookbook

Picture 10

I recently acquired my first pair of Edwin denim, as I’m trying to make a move towards a looser-fitting jean after years of skinny cuts. I love the authentic feel of Edwin selvedge; when you rub the denim between your fingers it has that highest-quality raw feel you only get from the Japanese masters. Mine came with the cinched back, a feature I love as it fits in perfectly with the workwear aesthetic these jeans were made for: boots, flannel, and chunky knits. After reading through their pioneering history online I came across the fall/winter 2009 lookbook, which is very understated and classic, a solid reflection of the brand itself. Hit the jump to see the mens (and women’s) collection shot in a quintessential autumn setting.

  1. Kevin — I love the blog. Thanks keeping the posting. It’s a great read.

You are so lucky that you have the option to wear skinny jeans. I have oak tree thighs, so I can only wear relaxed fit ones (for the most part).

    Again, I love the blog.

PS What rugby shirts do you guys like on the market now? I ask b/c I’m in love with the Bastian one for this fall, but it’s just too much to shovel out $500 for a rugby shirt. Any suggestions? cheers.

    hey Craig,

thanks for the comment, it’s always great to hear positive feedback. some clothing stuff: give Edwin jeans a good look, a bet they have a fit for you! I used to sell them and they were my go-to for bigger dudes who wanted a straight-leg, clean up-and-down look

as for rugby shirts, it’s funny, they’re something I think can only be worn a certain way. I’m not big into them as a saturday-casual look, but dressed up a bit they’re rad. check out this RL Polo joint, and the way it’s styled: http://tinyurl.com/yhwdkod

and for $85, I don’t think you can go wrong with the classic
