J.Crew Indigo Deck Jacket

J. Crew continue to bring the heat with their spring/summer 2010 collection, this time around with this indigo Deck Jacket. This piece takes inspiration from vintage marine sweaters and is done in a ‘ultra-hearty French terry fleece’  in a saturated indigo blue color and washed to perfect softness. The sweater features a shawl collar, lobster closures, welt style pockets, and is done in a reverse weave for top notch quality. At $138 USD this is a truly unique piece at a very reasonable price.

Summer Essential: Tretorn Nylite Canvas

Seeing that its the end of May its time to really start thinking about getting your summer attire game in check. For me an integral part of the summer kit is a good pair of all white canvas trainers. Usually I pick up a fresh pair of white vans, but this summer I think I might flip it up a bit and pick up a pair of Tretorn Nylite Canvas trainers. I have always liked Tretorn but never picked anything up from them, so I think the Nylite trainer is a great starting point. I cant wait to grab up a pair of these and turn them from white to brown by the end of the summer…

glamb Fall/Winter 2010 Lookbook

There is just so much quality product in this fall/winter 2010 lookbook from Japanese label glamb. Following the current trending in casual menswear and taking it a step further, there’s some truly excellent work in this collection… check the patched/distressed denim, leather jackets, patterned knits, and sweatpant looks. The two most outstanding pieces for me would have to be the contrast-arms jackets, with flannel/floral and puffer vest/leather combinations, both of which look incredible. The collection has tons of variance but overall stays cohesive, and the lookbook’s photographed feel does much justice to the individual pieces… click through for the rest.

Best New Music

[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pg0rWgs2r2Q]

As Brendan mentioned a couple days ago, times are busy ’round the 84/85 camp. I myself have been in music land, getting ready for a busy summer of shows, working on stuff for a new weekly party, continuing with my bass music involvement, and prepping mixes/edits/etc for some good old fashioned promo. As such I’ve been deep in the internet and have stumbled across a wide range of good new music, from artists both well know and just bubbling up from the underground. Featured above is my favorite jam from the new Broken Social Scene album… pretty haunting stuff, and a worthy followup to their much-vaunted previous two LPs. Keep reading for more of my choice picks for the best new music, and always try to buy the good stuff at places like Beatport or Amazon.

Dana Lee S/S 2010 @ Opening Ceremony

I can honestly say that my favorite designer right now would have to be Dana Lee. Her takes on classic menswear are just done so incredibly well. The current spring/summer 2010 collection is exclusively available @ Opening Ceremony. I love the pieces seen so far, with three styles of button down chambray shirts, three styles of tee shirts, a pair of double-chambray jeans and finally my favorite piece of the lot, the double-chambray jean jacket with leather sleeves. I think that having the line exclusively available OC was a good move for both parties, giving Dana Lee some great exposure and Opening Ceremony the exclusive on one of the top new menswear labels. Keep reading for a full preview, and go to OC to grab yourself one of these amazing looking pieces.

Acquired: Vans x Suicidal Tendencies

First off I would like to apologize for the lack of updates as of late, both Kevin and I have been ultra busy with work, side projects and most importantly our studio space that we have been working on over the last few months. The space is something we are very excited about as it will allow us to work on some projects and ideas that we have been cultivating over the last year or so. On another note I just picked up a pair of the Suicidal Tendencies Vans collaboration that recently dropped, and I’m in love. The color choice is so on point and the ST logo on the back heel adds just enough edge, without being overdone. The upper is a heavy weight canvas that I think should be seen on more Vans models, especially the Era’s. All in all I’m really happy with these bad boys, now all I have to do is beat the sh*t out of them like they deserve. Check a few ST videos after the jump…

ts(s) Fall/Winter 2010 Collection

Here is a look at the fall/winter 2010 collection from ts(s). It seems that the whole Suzuki family has the magic touch, as Tajiku is the younger brother of Daiki Suzuki of Engineered Garments. Tajiku has once again put together an amazing looking collection for his ts(s) label, which continues to move in the same direction as previous offerings. The looks shown are so well styled, I love the heavy layering and details of the pieces. Keep reading for the full preview…

Mishka Summer 2010 Lookbook

Mishka has just released this lookbook for their summer 2010 products entitled Too Much Too Young, shot by Eliz Weinberg on location at what looks to be Coney Island. As per usual the graphic tee game is on point, with a good selection of check shirts and hats mixed in as well. Mishka always has a natural feel to their lookbooks, with the models wearing the clothes easily, looking the part. Click through for some more choice shots from this collection.
