Here’s a quick roundup of some of the best of the internet over the past few days. First off, XLR8R just dropped a new podcast helmed by 84/85 favorite FaltyDL. Frenetic as his production styles, the mix contains new original Falty material alongside tracks from his contemporaries, mixed together with some classic garage and 2step. The Atavistic Urge: Johny Coast and Seth Rosko is a collaborative film effort profiling Brooklyn talent by John Watson (aka Prolly) and Sara Kinney. Good dialogue from both builders and the video itself is very well shot, making for a quality watch for any 2 wheeled enthusiast.
Lastly, Hypebeast just released this interview with Mr. Cartoon regarding his collaboration with Nike Sportswear to design the US World Cup 2010 uniforms, along with his thoughts on being Mexican-American and how it’s influenced his work. It’s pretty amazing how someone who came exclusively from tattoo and graffiti culture can rise to such corporate heights, and goes to show how dynamic the shift in mass marketing culture has been over the last decade.
