SOPHNET. Fall/Winter 2010 Lookbook

Back to Japan for some more fall/winter 2010 goodness… this new lookbook from SOPHNET. hits a wide range of stylistic marks, moving from preppy-inspired combos to workwear looks, all topped off with everybody’s new favourite flourish, camouflage. I really like the way this lookbook was shot, minimal and stark, utilizing lots of negative space. Colorful, relaxed, and random, this is a collection where almost anyone could pick a few pieces and work it in with what they’re already rocking… in other words, I’m really feeling this. On Repeat: Baths

Los Angeles-area resident Will Wiesenfeld, aka Baths, has had a productive 6 months. As the LA beat scene has gone to attract global attention through the success of artists like Flying Lotus, Shlohmo, and others, much media hype has been built around this burgeoning scene, with outlets like BBC’s Mary Anne Hobbs and XLR8R continually championing these new sounds. Released at just the right time, Baths’s debut LP Cerulean has been my most listened-to album over the last while; in a time where LPs get downloaded, skimmed over, and lost in the iTunes wormhole, this record has a staying power beyond many of his contemporaries. Complex melodies, tempo shifts, glitched-out moments transected with Wiesnfeld’s unique singing voice, and an overall cohesive tone, Cerulean will definitely be headed to my year-end ‘best of’ list. Actual Pain ‘Mystery Faith’ F/W 2010 Preview

Stepping away from our Japanese fall/winter binge for a moment, favorite Seattle-based graphic line Actual Pain just released a few previews of their upcoming ‘Mystery Faith’ collection, to be released in early August. There’s no other label who’s art is consistently this good, and season after season AP designer TJ Cowgill sets the benchmark for the darker end of streetwear. Bedwin x The North Face: F/W 2010 Products

Recently we featured the Bedwin & the Heartbreakers fall/winter 2010 collection, with one of my favorite parts being the North Face collaboration pieces. So i decided to take a closer look at this collection within a collection. I have become a big fan of technical outerwear pieces, especially The North Face  after introducing a ‘Summit Series’ jacket into my rotation last winter. The Bedwin x North Face collab looks great with two outerwear styles, one puffer and one gore-tex shell and a technical backpack as well. I dig the execution on the three pieces and love how they look put together with the rest of the collection.

Deluxe Fall/Winter 2010 Collection

It seems that all I have been interested in is Japanese menswear labels as of late, sp keeping in the same vain here is the upcoming f/w 2010 collection from Japanese label Deluxe. The line has been sticking to a strong theme over the last few seasons with influence coming from 50′s and 60′s greaser and rockabilly styling. The fall/winter 2010 collection titled ‘Rambler’ is full of those looks with tapered short cut pants, varsity jackets, plaids, and motorcycle jackets and boots. The styling and model choice for the lookbook are very fitting and complimentary to the collection. Keep reading for the full preview…

Japanese label Victim have been updating their site with new items for their upcoming fall/winter 2010 collection. The lineup is made of a great mix of casual and dress pieces, and a good amount of rugged looking work-inspired pieces as well.  They also have a great variety of collaboration items, with the likes of Dickies, Mt. Engineered Garments Fall/Winter 2010 Lookbook

The newest lookbook for Engineered Garments has recently been put up on Nepethes, showcasing the fall/winter 2010 collection in full. The collection sees a great deal of cycling influence throughout, from cycling pants, shirts, gloves and messenger style bags. The line also features collaboration pieces with San Francisco-based leather company Golden Bear Sportswear. The collection has no shortage of outstanding pieces, including the tailored down vest, storm parka and the leather pea coat. Keep reading for more looks…

Mix For Bass Coast
