Polarization: Part. 1

Here is a look at some pics from my day-to-day activities and adventures over the last month or so. It’s been a while since we have posted any personal images on here so I decided to put a few things up. It is a arbitrary mashup of things that I have captured over the last little while; hope you enjoy the randomness that is my life, more images after the jump…

Freshjive Spring 2011 Lookbook

Classic California streetwear cool is the theme of this s/s 2011 lookbook from long-time innovators Freshjive, capturing the LA grit and color in a way that the label has perfected throughout the years. Entitled River’s Edge, the line is loose and easy with the pieces put together in to well-composed looks, featuring more graphics than they’ve shown in the past few seasons. I especially feel the tank tops, always a staple for the warmer months… keep reading for the rest of this series.

WTAPS Spring/Summer 2011 Lookbook

WTAPS returns with their trademark strong military styling for their s/s 2011 collecton, alongside hits of plaid, shorts, tees, and a full canvas trainer and sandal range. This lookbook employs the washed-out film presentation we’ve seen from the line in the past, which works really well with the styling and locale. Another great looking run from WTAPS, more after the jump.

Burkman Bros. Spring/Summer 2011

Here’s a look at the Burkman Bros spring/summer 2011 presentation, in which the collection has a huge nautical theme seen throughout. I really like the great use of pattern and fabrics, also the Ralph Lauren-esque all-over embroidery prints are great. However, I am not entirely into the presentation and styling of the lookbook, it just doesn’t really do it for me. But all in all this is another impressive collection from the Canadian Brothers, keep reading for the full lookbook…

Deluxe Spring/Summer 2011 Catalog

Here is a look at Japanese label Deluxe and their spring/summer 2011 collection catalog entitled ‘Muddy Town.’ This collection continues with the 50′s and 60′s rocker-style references seen in their previous seasons as well. I really like the general simplicity of the collection, classic pieces with some subtle and interesting details. The styling and model choices are also very fitting with the collection itself making for another great looking overall presentation from the label. Keep reading for the full looks…

Norse Projects Fall/Winter 2011 Lookbook

Danish label Norse Projects has been a favourite of ours over the last few seasons, always a contender for champions of solid versatile basics. Just released is this lookbook for their f/w 2011 collection, capturing the sparse,  isolated, frozen Scandinavian aesthetic that influences the label’s designs. Normally I’m not a huge fan of the ‘get models to stand alone in nature’ direction for a lookbook, but in this case it really seems to work… beautiful photography and great looking pieces from Norse… keep reading for more.

A Closer Look: South2 West8 Spring/Summer 2011

We previously showcased the lookbook from South2 West8 for their spring/summer 2011 collection. I don’t know what it is that I like so much about the label, but their obscure interpretations of the heritage outdoors style just works for me. Although I don’t think I could wear 3/4 of their stuff I can really appreciate it for what it is. I just like how far they take things, such as a tie dye hooded sweat poncho. Here is a closer look at pieces from the spring/summer collection that were key favourites…
