SOPHNET. Fall/Winter 2011 Lookbook

Always coming through with some of the most thorough collections on the market, SOPHNET. returns with this f/w 2011 run, continuing the strong styling points and themes we’ve seen from the Japanese label over the past few seasons. I’m feeling the restrained use of camo, hits here and there, as f/w 2011 and s/s 2012 are gonna look like WW2 from a lot of labels. I also enjoy the recurring Mickey print, glad to see SOPH isn’t off that yet. Another winner from a line you know you can count on, click through for the rest of this lookbook.

Actual Pain ‘All of them Witches’ Collection

We couldn’t not post the new Actual Pain All of them Witches collection, as the bringers of the Pain are serious favorites with the 8485 boys. This new run brings the realness yet again, with plenty of new designs to die for (literally), such as Immortal Mickey, King of Pugs, Knock Knock Motherfucker and the Zlog colab, Hell on Wheels. Now the only question is ‘witch’ ones to cop? Hit the jump for more…

SASQUATCHfabrix. Fall/Winter 2011

These days we definitely don’t post as much avant-design as we used to, and while I still appreciate a lot of couture, there’s just too much good Japanese high street to fawn over (haha). This new f/w 2011 collection by SASQUATCHfabrix masterfully blends both realms, some seriously out-there styling with a handful of pieces that are more influenced by the contemporary Japanese street scene, making for a run full of cohesion and dichotomy. As the kids would say, this line is ‘on one,’ and I’m feeling it through and through. Hit the jump for the full lookbook.

Strangeloop ‘Fields’ A/V Experience

LA’s Brainfeeder collective has been known from day one for providing a complete A/V experience at their now-legendary clubnight, and while an impressive lineup of resident beatsmiths certainly is a large part of that, in-house visuals don Strangeloop (also an accomplished producer) seals the deal with his highly-complex synced projections. In this new A/V project for Fields TV he goes even deeper in to the wormhole, in his words creating ‘an environment that leans more in the direction of Steve Reich-inspired minimalism’ than the beat-centric style people may expect of him. This video+soundscape is a tour de force: lately I’ve been loving beat-less productions, and this evolving, nuanced piece is a stunning marriage of warm synth textures and the high-compression production techniques the BF collective have perfected … check it out above (make sure to go full screen), but also make sure to visit the Fields site for the full experience.

Adam Kimmel Hiking Boot

Adam Kimmel’s fall/winter 2011 collection is starting to pop up at retailers worldwide. Tres Bien have received a few pieces from the collection, and one of my favorites is the Hiking Boot in black with a rugger leather outer, soft leather inner, hiker laceing and Vibram sole. Kimmel’s collection for this season is collectively one of our favorites by any designer, Northwest motorcycle dirtbag look  goes over well with the 8485 boys.

Nigel Cabourn: Orange, Army & Navy Photo Series

Here is an interesting look at the Nigel Cabourn fall/winter 2011 collection broken down into three separate photo series: Orange, Army, and Navy. The shoots were executed by Sophie-China Cabourn and Anna Victoria Best with outfits featuring each particular color for each series. This is a great idea and good way to see the use of color in the collection itself. Keep reading for the full photo series…

Eddie Bauer Holiday 2011

Seattle’s original outdoors label Eddie Bauer presents us with a look at their collection for the holiday 2011 season. The line has been undergoing a restructuring for the fall/winter 2011 season, as they are trying to claim their place in the heritage/outdoors menswear industry. This collection for holiday ’11 is a prime example of the restructuring, with much more ‘on trend’ looks and pieces as well as the introduction of the Nigel Cabourn collaboration collection of down jackets, which are all made right here in Canada. The collection itself looks pretty solid yet still the styling isn’t 100% on, but I do like the direction they are heading. Full looks after the jump…
