XLARGE Fall 2011

LA/Japan streetwear OG’s XLARGE rollout an expansive collection for fall 2011, cementing their legacy 20 years deep. Feeling the styling of this lookbook, on a tip that only Supreme and a few select Japanese labels can do properly, grown-man streetwear that still retains some grit. Now generally only available online if you’re outside of Asia, the line also just released a dope Lowe Alpine collab, and their Champion partnership has been one of the best running… keep reading for the entire fall ’11 lookbook.

For The Country

Filmed and edited by my good friend Ryan Lindow, For The Country follows Teppei ‘Nasty’ Iwabuchi and Yuhei ‘Marco’ Hirose on their first journey from Japan to the USA, to be part of the Red Bull Ride and Style event in San Francisco. This trip occurred within a month of the earthquake and tsunami that had just devastated Japan, so the aftermath and way forward are heavily on the minds of the two riders. Normally I don’t get down with much ‘fixed freestyle,’ but these guys have such great style and attitude, making riding look fun regardless of style. This vid was produced in conjunction with some of my favourite lines/retailers, FTC, W-BASE, and SKYLMT, and my studio partner Rob Squire and I were happy to contribute a song to this video, heard during the contest section; thanks to Ryan for having us involved with this quality project!

Cluct Winter 2011 Collection

Japanese label Cluct are back with this look into their winter 2011 collection. We took a look at their autumn 2011 selection a few months back and I was very pleased with what I saw. I can say the same for the winter 2011 collection, with once again a good mix of outdoors styling and workwear looks. Really feeling this label from what I have seen over the last little while.

The North Face Fall/Winter 2011 Lookbook

Here’s a studio-slick f/w ’11 lookbook from The North Face, which appears to be an editorial although I haven’t been able to discern the source. I figure editorial because I’m doubtful mainline TNF would a) shoot a lookbook or b) use a babyface model if they did. That being said, I’m feeling the styling and setup here, and as per always with The North Face there’s some killer pieces, such as the leather brim hat featured above and all the bags seen throughout. Who am I kidding, I like pretty much everything here, the 84/85 boys are big TNF fans, a perfect balance of classic styling with the high functionality you need to function outdoors during the westcoast winter. Topo Designs 2011 Collection

You already know that I love me some vintage style bags, so insert Colorado’s Topo Designs. Here is a look at their collection for 2011, featuring classic outdoors styled bags all made in the US of A. All the bags are made out of 1000d Cordura outers and coated pack cloth, or vinyl truck tarp interiors with leather accents and heavy duty hardware. I am really liking the mini mountain pack (seen above in duck camo) as I have been looking for a good small commuter bag for carrying all the little things I need; beers, camera, sketchbook, paint, and a little extra room for daily acquisitions.

Jackman Fall/Winter 2011

Here is the f/w 2011 collection from Jackman, another Japanese label who’s stocklist is exclusively domestic. Hard to give much more info as their ‘about’ section is entirely in Japanese, but from the look of the pieces it seems like they take inspiration from classic prep sportwear styling, with an inescapable hint of workwear thrown in for good measure. Great composition to these shots, synchs up quite well with the look of the line… more after the jump, click pics to expand.

Carhartt Heritage Lookbook by Goodhood

London’s Goodhood Shop will be carrying select pieces from the Carhartt Heritage range for the f/w 2011 season. To celebrate this they have produced a small lookbook to coincide with the release. The collection will be available on Sept. 20th at the shop, where they will also be throwing a launch party at which Carhartt will be showcasing their back catalog of heritage pieces. Its no secret we love (and always have loved) Carhartt and I am a big fan of how the Goodhood shop does their thing, a great venture for both parties.

FTC Autumn/Winter 2011

Posted via their fb page, FTC is back this this f/w collection, killing the street game the SF-originated line helped pioneer, now 25 years deep. This lookbook features personal favourites such as Jovante Turner and Brian Anderson, and I’m pretty sure Cards makes an appearance after the jump as well. FTC has been steady expanding their reach, now with hands in the Cali/Japan trackbike scene, a good contemporary compliment to their deep roots in skateboarding… look for something in that vein to be posted early next week, with a little bit of involvement by myself… until then, keep reading for the full f/w 2011 collection.
