LABRAT Spring/Summer 2012

Super hype lookbook by Japanese label LABRAT, who apparently have been wilding out for years now, though this is the first I’ve seen of them. JP-only save a Hong Kong account and some pieces on Zozo, this s/s ’12 collection features some of the best styling I’ve seen in a minute, and I’m especially feeling the Vision and Vans incorporations. What to say, the first look above just kills it… the rest of the lookbook after the jump.

Also, thanks for bearing with us through the holiday slowdown. Expect our year in review post in the next day or two! Cheers for the patience and hope everyone has had a few days off to relax and spend time with friends and family.

Victim Spring/Summer 2012

Up on their site and reposted on Unbar in higher res, here is the first look at Victim‘s spring/summer 2012 collection. We’ve been following the line a long time, one of the most consistent labels out there season after season, solid menswear basics with a great blend of influences, from workwear to prep to a bit of avant Japanese styling. I’m sure a few more lookbooks will surface before they’re done rinsing this collection, and you can be sure we’ll post ’em… click through for the rest.

Whiz Limited x Disney Crewneck

Perhaps the most overdone collab of the past forever is Disney x _____, usually Mickey flipped in some half-assed way… meaning, normally I would pass this right over. That said, I have a dark history of digging deep in vintage bins searching for the right Disney piece, so I’m always open to the right interpretation, and Whiz LTD really nail it with this one, a blacked-out crew that comes together perfectly. Maybe this can be the last Disney collab ever? Not likely but we can always dream.

Big John Autumn/Winter 2011

I know its pretty much the end of the autumn/winter 2011 season but I couldn’t let this collection from Big John jeans fall by the wayside. This is another Japanese label that takes classic American workwear/utilitarian styles and reinterprets them. I would mess with this entire collection head to toe, nothing overdone just straight up hit after hit. Read through for a few more looks…

HBTV Presents FUCT – 20 Years of Erik Brunetti

HBTV recently put up this great short vid featuring interviews and footage of Erik Brunetti, as shot by David Gallardo during Bruntetti’s retrospective show at LA’s Union. From the writeup,

‘Concisely recapping 20 years of Erik Brunetti’s involvement with FUCT is difficult; the artist and graffiti writer founded the label in 1990 and has since attracted many people with re-interpreted cultural themes and iconography and above all else a strong opinion’

Nothing but respect and admiration for Brunetti and his many artistic outputs from the 84/85 camp, and this vid is definitely worth the watch.

Poler Stuff: Adventure #005

Poler have been making some big waves in the market over the last little while. They have their formula down, unique quality products and a solid team to back them. They also have some great ideas for their website, with one of them being the Adventure series, which features Poler goods doing what they do best, getting out there. Here is a look at the Poler Adventure #005 entitled Cypress Bowl Cabin Hideaway, shot by my friend Alana Paterson and styled by Mila Franovic. A few of my favorite shots featured above and check here to see the rest of the shoot.

PRPS Spring/Summer 2012

Here’s the lookbook for PRPS‘ forthcoming s/s 2012 collection, another strong showing from designer Donwan Harrell. In their words, the run is ‘bruised never broken – the garments are hand finished with the most authentic processes forming layers of beautifully worn-in creases, nicks and tears.’ Great preview, staying with the washed denim, earth tones, and camo themes we’ve seen from them over the past few seasons. More after the jump, and shouts to Selectism for the images.
