FWK by Engineered Garments Spring/Summer 2013

When it comes to women’s fashion the 8485 boys don’t know much but what we do know is when the FWK by Engineered Garments line pops up its time to get our #womenswear game on. Always impressive, the FWK line harnesses the overall aesthetic of the mens EG line but feminizes it with the cuts and styles. I really like the light parkas, specifically the ones in the single colour image above.

Reigning Champ x Deus Ex Machina Capsule Collection

Couldn’t let this capsule collection pass without a mention, Vancouver’s Reigning Champ have teamed up with Deus Ex Machina for a two piece mini collaboration. The collection is made up of a classic styled fleece riding jacket as well as a riding hoodie, with built in balaclava and thumb holes. I don’t know about the practicality of fleece for our Westcoast riding but I am sure this would fly in LA and Australia. I would mess with both items but I would wear a proper leather overtop for ample protection (I bet a Reigning Champ fleece would feel really comfortable imbedded in your arm after a crash). Rad little lookbook shoot to accompany the capsule collection, look for these two to work together on more projects in the future (images: Selectism).

nonnative Spring/Summer 2013

Maybe my least favourite seasonal collection since we started posting nonnative? And I omitted the looks that seemed to include Ugg boots as the footwear of choice… take a look back at their s/s 2010 collection and you’ll see what I’m getting at: perhaps it’s a loss of masculinity to a collection that couldn’t afford to tone that down much in the first place, but there’s something about this lookbook that just ain’t working for me. As always with this line I dig everything on a piece-by-piece basis, but the overall styling of this run isn’t the one. Fall/winter is always a stronger move from most labels regardless, and we’ll look for nonnative to bounce back later in 2013.

FUCT #8BallWorld F/W 2012 Delivery 2

JR Ewing’s 8BallGang is featured in these looks for FUCT‘s second f/w 2012 delivery, real Seattle goon styles. #8BallWorld 2013, I like the video animated by 8BallTony and scored by Keyboard Kid, who also just released his I Think I’m Santa tape (very based).

Engineered Garments Spring/Summer 2013

Hard livin for a blauger this time of year: not a lot of collections being released, and churning over such eternal questions as ‘to year-end list or to not year-end list?’ (advance disclaimer: feeling a little lazy this year). All that said here’s the s/s 2013 lookbook from Engineered Garments, the usual warm weather garden wedding swag from the JP/NYC label. More quality and originality from an always reliable label, and more after the break.

Inpaichthys kerri Spring/Summer 2013

With it being wintery out there and all we might as well take a look at some 70′s California surf inspired looks from Inpaichthys kerri for the spring/summer 2013 season. The collection takes inspiration from vintage pieces and styles and modernizes them. The looks are actually hilarious, palm print pants and jackets, cord shorts, cardigans, visors and headbands and I think the dudes modeling the collection are stoned…

Stutterheim Raincoats Shot by Thomas Lohr

Here is a glimpse at the newest lookbook shoot from Swedish raincoat company Stutterheim. The portrait style images are shot by Thomas Lohr and features Marc Brady modeling the coats. I am loving the simplicity of the jackets as well as the shoot itself, no filler here just a quality looking product with a great story behind it. Head over to Stutterheim for more info on the brand.
