Monitaly Fall/Winter 2011 Lookbook

Monitaly is the relativly new clothing label started by Yuki Matsuda of Yuketen footwear. Here is a look at their lookbook for the fall/winter 2011 season, which is beautifully shot in different outdoors locales. The collection itself is all manufactured in the U.S.A., sticking with the whole Americana look and feel. Even though we have seen enough/lots of the ‘standing in the forest’ lookbook direction I still enjoy this one, with many different settings that really play off the clothes themselves. Keep reading for more shots and go to the Monitaly site to view the entire lookbook.

WTAPS 2011/2nd ‘Way of Life’ Collection

WTAPS brings the heat again with their 2011/2nd collection entitled Way of Life. The run has a great mix of workwear, military and rockabilly styled pieces, all constructed with the best materials and quality craftsmanship. The standout piece for me from is the Lumberjack made from Harris Tweed (pictured first), but it is all on point. Another impressive collection from designer TET with his WTAPS label.

Vainl Archive Fall/Winter 2011 Lookbook

Here is the f/w ’11 lookbook from Tokyo’s Vainl Archive, with a well executed oldtown America diner aesthetic that works for me perfectly. Great presentation of the collection, with a few key styles that are always hit, e.g. tights under shorts and Vans Eras, as well as a few plaids. Nice to see a lookbook that has more conceptualization that ‘looking forlorn in the woods’ or ‘kicking it with my bros downtown being sorta badass,’ keep reading for more from Vainl Archive f/w 2011.

nanamica Fall/Winter 2011

Here is the full look at nanamica‘s f/w 2011 collection, also featuring collaborations with The North Face Purple Label, Trickers, and Champion. Great looking run from the Japanese label, but that’s no surprise… known for producing stylized basics of the highest quality, this run hits all the key pieces for f/w, with my personal favourites being the Purple Label collabs and the gorgeous Champion deep lavender/maroon sweats… more after the break, click to expand the images.

Swagger Fall/Winter 2011

Paying homage to the 90′s and the northwest grunge movement especially, this fall/winter 2011 collection by Tokyo’s Swagger is a great example of conceptual execution, mixing contemporary Japanese street stylings with unmistakable cues from the past. Really feeling the use of Bulls imagery (especially the Rodman jersey), and I’m always a fan of tights and shorts, especially with oxblood Docs. Normally known for a more hip-hop aesthetic and collabs within that realm, this is a really solid collection from Swagger, with tight styling and just the right amount of risk taking: more after the jump.

South 2 West 8 Fall/Winter 2011 Lookbook

The kings of outdoors obscure, South 2 West 8 are back at it with this look at their fall/winter 2011 collection. Once again the line sticks to its strong outdoors roots with ‘classic outdoor detailed modern fashion wear.’ This lookbook is shot outdoors in snowy conditins as well as in their retail space, which is beyond impressive, featuring huge game heads on the walls and full sized taxidermied bears. I can always get down with the S2W8 collections, though a bit strange at points all the pieces have their specific functions and are odes to classic outdoors styles. Another impressive collection from the S2W8 camp, full looks after the jump…

OSCAR by Alpinestars Fall/Winter 2011 Lookbook

This is definitely not the Alpinestars you’re accustomed to: no star-logo flatbrims, hoodies, or knee-high riding boots (or leather bodysuits) here. Apparently the new OSCAR offshoot has been 40 years in the making:

‘Merging a history of innovation and Italian craftsmanship, the current Oscar line will exist as a fusion of classic styles and silhouettes, punctuated by subtle technical features and modern processes. Much in the vein of the original Oscar product, an equal balance of form and function will be meticulously maintained, creating unique, premium garments, guided by the timeless rebel-style essence of motorcycle racing.’

With a history full of innovation and success, trust that Alpinestarts will come correct with this new line. It also helps they shot this excellent lookbook for the forthcoming f/w 2011 collection, showcasing the product in it’s natural state, in the shop and on the road and singletrack.
