Hope everyone had a rad weekend, getting rad. Here’s a real-as-it-gets ‘lookbook’ for your Monday, Carhartt and their mainline apparel getting the Texas treatment. From BBQ to stadium building it’s all covered here, with the concept executed quite well. I think Brendan and I probably wear more workwear world Carhartt than anything else these days, it just really doesn’t get any better.

Carhartt’s WIP label has become a serious favourite around here as of late, especially this season’s mens collection, featured back here. Today I came across the women’s f/w lookbook, shot by French photag Stéphanie Solinas, and it’s just as impressive as anything from the men’s run; from the shot compositions to the pieces, everything is as it should be, and as you would expect from Carhartt EU. It’s also been a while since we’ve featured some women’s styling, and what better line to bring it back with… more after the jump.

Its really starting to feel like fall out here on the westcoast, and with the leaves starting to turn and that crisp feeling in the air it’s time to bring out the warmer outerwear staples from the collection. Here is a look at a few outerwear pieces from my vintage collection, with a focus on made in U.S.A. pieces. I decided to break out 5 styles; first off is a Carhartt work vest in duck camo with a quilted interior, second is a US military jacket that I have waxed myself a few times, next is a classic CPO Shirt/Coat done in a heavy wool, I particularly like the color combo on this one, rounding down with the Wrangler Range Coat which is a 14oz denim outer with heavy sherpa lining, and lastly is a Woolrich Blanket lined jacket in tan canvas outer with a beautiful multi color removable blanket liner. Fall/winter 2011 marks the first season Vancouver’s Roden Gray will be carrying the Adam Kimmel x Carhartt collection, and it is also their first foray in to video content. This short film showcases the collaboration in a few different contexts, all set against the gorgeous backdrop of the city (the weather the last few weeks has been incredible). Shot by my pal Peter Hagge, this vid really delivers, hope to see more like this from the Roden team.

Now taking the crown for most anticipated collection for f/w 2011 is Carhartt’s Work In Progress line, which has just released this amazing lookbook showcasing a wide range of rock-solid basics. Still not widely available in North America, the EU-based line keeps stepping their hot up, and the styling of this run is second to none. Pretty much looking like a trip through my closet, this is ‘fashion’ collection for guys who do things that might involve getting dirty, covering all the key bases: denim, sweaters, flannel buttonups, camo pants, shop coats, bags, and a Vans collaboration all present and accounted for. Since we were too busy ducking hockey rioters to attend Pitti, we have to thank HighSnob for this preview of one of favorite ongoing collaborations, Adam Kimmel x Carhartt for spring/summer 2012. Ultra-staple basics pieces define this line, with the blue Carhartt logo flip hypnotically drawing me in… out of all the various collaborations the American workwear label has dabbled in as of late, this one is definitely my favourite. Seen widely across the net, we’d be remiss not to repost this excellent collaboration between two of our absolute favorite lines, the original American workwear specialists of Carhartt and the neauvo-masculine US menswear designer Adam Kimmel. Could there be a better team to speak to our aesthetic sensibilities? Probably not; this bang-on run of sweatshirts, flannels, overshirts, rugged trousers, denim, and the signature Carhartt toque (with the signature logo flipped to blue, amazing) is exactly the kind of collection that gives me faith in crossover collaborations, with viable products, not just pics for the internet hype machine.
