Cadence Winter 2009

Dustin Klien and his Cadence line return for winter 2009 with a new drop of cycling-oriented clothing and accessories, and as always, the collection is looking functional, unique, and subtly stylish. We’ve been big proponents of the Cadence Collection for a long time now, as it’s one of our favourite business models going: handmade, domestic, tightly designed, and true to cycling culture. I really like the heather grey crew-neck sweatshirt, and I would love to get my hands on the more technical pieces, such as the arm-warmers or the undershirt. Hit the jump to see more from the winter 09 drop.

Corpus Fall/Winter 2009

crp_laec_140

One of my favourite lines that I’ve actually got to wear over the last few years, Corpus is a line that’s been plagued by inconsistency. A missed season, chronic incomplete deliveries of the collection; the brand has definitely had to fight some battles in this overcrowded mens market, and being based out of economically hard-hit California hasn’t helped either. All that being said, Corpus is back looking super strong for fall/winter 09, reestablishing their aesthetic of slim cuts combined with anti-fit, and a stark black/white colour palate. Corpus is one of the few lines that has always fit me right off the rack, and their designs always have little intricacies that set the brand apart from its contemporaries… keep reading for more looks from this succinct collection.

Ransom Fall/Winter 2009 Lookbook

ransom fall09 3

Toronto’s Ransom are bringing the heat from the East coast of Canada with their fall/winter 2009 collection, seen here with their current lookbook. We have featured Ransom here a few times now because they are representing for Canada, and for the fact that they put together great collections season after season. The lookbook for their F/W 09 collection is titled ‘Midnight Marauder,’ being shot in the night time in an outdoors setting. The collection is looking clean and classic with pieces easily adaptable into any guys wardrobe. The standout part of the collection is the collaboration effort with Adidas Originals on five custom designed footwear pieces. Ransom shows once again they are not to be slept on in the menswear market, doing thoughtful collaborations and making classic looking pieces with a modern twist. A Closer Look: Visvim Fall/Winter 2009

visvim5

Visvim has become one of the most regarded and sought-after fashion labels to emerge from Japan in the last decade. The line has gained quite a following and a lot success since it’s inception back in 2000. Japanese magazine SENSE has done this full feature on the Visvim Fall/Winter 2009 collection, as well as a small interview with Hiroki Nakamura, the founder and head designer of the brand. I have followed the line for a few years now, usually liking their footwear but this collection is one that I really enjoy, particularly the leather rider-style Strabler jacket and the Skagway Hi Elston sneaker in the cognac brown color. The styles are classic and the fits are modern, using only the finest materials and construction methods, this collection shows why Visvim is a leader in this market. Supreme Fall/Winter 2009 Lookbook

supremelook9

Here is a look at Supreme New York’s F/W 2009 collection. As always with Supreme the collection is looking really solid with a full range of pieces from basics to outerwear and everything else in between. There are so many good pieces, especially the outerwear which is really doing it for me. The styling of the lookbook is on point, with a good variety of fully wearable looks being showcased. I really like the varsity style jacket and the leather hooded bomber, as well as the tasteful use of camo which seems to be popping up in a lot of current Fall collections, and I’m not mad at it. 3sixteen Fall/Winter 2009 Lookbook

Picture 42

3sixteen is a line that I feel has had one of the best progressions of any brand lately, as they seem to be taking notes, really watching the direction in which things are going, and staying with the curve. The last few collections have been great, from the pieces through to the presentation of the lookbooks. This time around the fall/winter 2009 collection is nothing different; the pieces and presentation are looking solid with this being the most complete and well-rounded line to date in my eyes. I love the lookbook, it really captures the feeling of classic New York. More shots after the jump…

Feeling it: SSDD F/W 2009 collection

fuct

Here is a look at Erik Brunetti of Fuct‘s latest line titled ‘Same Shit Different Day’ and their Fall/Winter 2009 collection. Fuct was one of the original skate/streetwear brands, started in 1990 by Brunetti, spawning a different movement in fashion, the original streetwear movement along side lines like Freshjive and Stussy. With interesting designs and artwork, and quality cut and sew pieces, SSDD is a line to check for. The F/W 2009 collection really does it for me, and with a good range in pieces from jerseys to flannels to jackets to trousers, the line is full of realness. I particularly like the khaki work style pants, the ‘Luciferian’ crewneck and the blue flannel. Keep reading for the full collection…

Klaxton Howl Fall/Winter 2009

howl3

Keeping things moving in the Canadian department we feature the fall/winter 2009 collection from the Toronto based label/store Klaxton Howl. The line has a really nice classic outdoors vibe and feel to it: “Our inspirations come from the spirit and icons of the past. Men who toil and the clothes that protect them. Frontiersmen and prospectors, Soldiers and Sailors, Aviators and Highwaymen, American Indians and Cattlemen and the film idols that portrayed them. We study and reference our ever growing archive of vintage garments, books and films for details, fit, fabrics and finishes. Creating unique clothing with a nostalgic, ardent feel. Striving to achieve imperfect beauty through the use of raw, honest materials and non standardized details and proportions. Giving men a new outlook on dressing. Style over fashion.” I think their writeup sums it up for me, this is a really interesting line that I would love to see more from. If you are in the Toronto area check out their new space at 694 Queen St. W. and keep reading for more looks from the collection…
