L.L. Bean sees itself moving into the second season from their offshoot line, the ‘Signature Collection‘. The spring/summer ’11 lineup sees the addition of two styles in the footwear category, the Handsewn Wedge Sole Moc and the Cepe Sole Moc Boot. Both feature 7-hole height and moc toes, with the wedge sole moc hand made in Maine, hence the $350 price tag compared to the Crepe at $179. I have always found the focal point of the Signature collection to be the footwear styles, and these two new additions solidify my thought.
The highly anticipated L.L. Bean Signature collection was released yesterday online. The line is designed by Rogues Gallery founder Alex Carleton, who tapped into the vast L.L. Bean archives to put together a classic outdoors inspired collection. The line is made up of a variety of highly wearable pieces and looks, all done in that East Coast maritime style Bean and Carleton are known for. A few pieces of mention are the feather weight hunting jacket, the Ranger Moc, the Saltwater pull-over shirt, and the corduroy shorts. The collection lives up to all the hype and doesn’t disappoint, keep reading for more looks…

The first pieces to drop online for pre-sale (the full collection drops March 2010) are two tote bags, including the ‘Heritage tote’ and the ‘Saltwash Canvas tote,’ both great looking classic bags. The first two offerings from the Signature collection are looking solid, I can’t wait to see what else is to come…
