New bomb from Massan, filmed last fall, the first piece of online promo for Macaframa 2 coming later this year. Always enjoy the Maca editing style, looking forward to new footage from them rolling out in the coming months.

New online from Macaframa, here is their entry in the the Bicycle Film Festival 2011. The quality of the filming and editing is so high and the fast bike parts are so good (Jason Clary and Massan) that is it worth sitting through the FGFS parts. Can’t wait to see the next full length from the Maca team.

Yup, we still ride our trackbikes everyday. it’s just too bad most of the ‘blog scene’ surrounding trackbike culture is pretty toy… that is, except for Massan, Macaframa, MASH, Full Frame Collective, Milk Money, Cadence, all those good peoples. From Maca:
‘We filmed this Hill in April 2011 during the very beginning of production for Macaframa’s second feature. This was filmed with our initial car mount system that is not as sturdy as the current setup, therefore being a little shakier than our standard for what will make it into the film. That being said, Massan kills it on every road he touches. Enjoy.’

A few of the boys from SF’s Macaframa crew headed down to SoCal for a visit, and this edit captures the ensuing adventures, including an appearance on the local news, beer pong, track bike smashing, and bowl skating. Handing out copies of the Maca film to local riders is a definite highlight, as is the 20″ fixed… damn I want one of those. MASH and Maca are pretty much the only track bike content I check these days, so the more edits they put out the better!

SF cycling collective Macaframa were (along with MASH) some of the first to push street track riding in to the mainstream consciousness. And while MASH has gone on to enjoy commercial success with their Cinelli collaboration and their line of apparel, Macaframa remained more underground, save the success of their feature film. However, Maca have finally gone to production with their aluminum Raleigh frameset, and featured above is the commercial for the project, highlighting the SF aesthetic that makes the collective so appealing… hills, rain, and smashing through traffic. More great video work from the Maca gang.

This one’s quickly making the blogworld rounds, but damn.. gotta be the best 45 seconds of track bike footage I’ve seen since Mash. This is tops to me: bombing big hills, crazy fast speeds, follow cam. I definitely can’t wait to finally see the finished Macaframa video.
