Macaframa for Low Bicycles

[vimeo 50246957]

Great short video promoting Low Bicycles out of San Francisco, featuring Massan and some bombing, a reoccurring subject matter here on the blauge. From the Vimeo writeup,

Low Bicycles is a small manufacturer of high quality, handmade aluminum racing frames, right here in San Francisco, CA. Our designs reflect a passion for the sport, the craft, and the culture. Here in San Francisco, we are at ground-zero of one of the most vibrant cycling communities in the world. While most major manufacturers are moving their production overseas, our mission is to honor the craft and our riding community by staying local and responding to its needs. Because we take pride in the quality and precision of our work, each frame is handmade in small batch production runs. design philosophy a tribute to bombing down velodrome banks or city hills, and cranking hard, our frames are built to go fast and handle the rigors of professional and urban cycling. Our geometries remain true to, and are intended for track racing; with aggressive profiles, responsive handling, and overall strength and stiffness, while our overall aesthetic embodies power and simplicity.

Look for this to make all the blog rounds, cause it’s damn good. Gotta love real deal track bikes.

Massan x Macaframa Raw

Yup, we still ride our trackbikes everyday. it’s just too bad most of the ‘blog scene’ surrounding trackbike culture is pretty toy… that is, except for Massan, Macaframa, MASH, Full Frame Collective, Milk Money, Cadence, all those good peoples. From Maca:

‘We filmed this Hill in April 2011 during the very beginning of production for Macaframa’s second feature. This was filmed with our initial car mount system that is not as sturdy as the current setup, therefore being a little shakier than our standard for what will make it into the film. That being said, Massan kills it on every road he touches. Enjoy.’

Massan for Leader Bike Co.

[vimeo vimeo.com/9715882]

Massive absence of bike content lately, but perhaps that’s due to a lack of quality edits such as this being produced. This short features Massan of Mash SF fame bombing through San Francisco, an environment we’ve seen him destroy plenty before, but yet it never gets old. This is the kind of riding we love here at 84/85… no tricks, just smashing. Be prepared for the last sequence, not for the faint of heart…

Matt Lingo

EDIT: the Massan vid has been taken down for some reason, but trust us, it was good.

It’s been a while since we’ve posted any bike content… maybe that’s because there’s not a ton of quality video surfacing right now. However, if there’s one rider always worth watching it’s Massan, and this new vid by Matt Lingo captures some nice traffic lines down some SF hills. Lingo has provided some of the best imagry of track bike riders over the last couple years, and recently had a book entitled ‘This City Can’t Swallow Me’ published through Blurb, documenting his hometown of San Diego. Now residing in LA, look for Lingo to continue to provide nice shots as he works for pubs like COG and companies like Leader. Hit the jump for photo work and more video.
