Couldn’t let this capsule collection pass without a mention, Vancouver’s Reigning Champ have teamed up with Deus Ex Machina for a two piece mini collaboration. The collection is made up of a classic styled fleece riding jacket as well as a riding hoodie, with built in balaclava and thumb holes. I don’t know about the practicality of fleece for our Westcoast riding but I am sure this would fly in LA and Australia. I would mess with both items but I would wear a proper leather overtop for ample protection (I bet a Reigning Champ fleece would feel really comfortable imbedded in your arm after a crash). Rad little lookbook shoot to accompany the capsule collection, look for these two to work together on more projects in the future (images: Selectism).

Challenger Fall/Winter 2012 – Style

Challenger is a line that I have been really digging over the last while. The mix of Japanese motorcycle with classic work wear and street styles makes for an impressive overall look. The fall/winter 2012 collection has been getting rolled out over the last few months and these are some of the first styled looks for the season. Just a short preview for now with hopefully more to come in the near future.

Grammin’ Out – Part II

Here is another instalment of the Grammin’ Out series here at 85/85. Sometimes its nice to take a break from the regular fashion, music, art posts and give a little insight into our personal lives on the day to day grind. Seeing as it is fully fall out here now on the westcoast wetcoast we decided to put together a little photo montage from the summer months that passed. We are so damn lucky to live in the places we do and be able to the live the life; motorbikes, bikes, beaches, mountains and oceans. Enjoy this look at how we enjoyed our summers, hope you had a good ride too (and if you want to follow us on the Grams, click in to our Connect page).

Adam Nickel – New Works

Adam Nickel is an artist based out of Australia, more specifically the Sunshine Coast of Australia. He has a background in animation, graphic design and advertising with a rather broad client range from GQ, Wired, The Gaurdian, Patagonia to Deus Ex Machina. One thing that prevails throughout his works is his love for two wheels, bicycles and motorcycles. I am really feeling this recent series of works,  titled ‘Dreams, Dedication, Discisions, Defeat.’ Each one has a certain emotion to it, makes you feel like you are there working on the bikes. Click through for some previous works from Nickel and click here to purchase prints.

Deus Spring/Summer 2013 Lookbook

Here is a quick look at the Deus spring/summer 2013 lookbook. The Australian and now US based brand has been steady murdering it on many different levels, from their immaculate custom machines, their art direction and of course their on point clothing collections. From what I understand the brand is taking a new direction with a more high end look and feel as well as price point, all good moves in my eyes. Look for a post in the very near future featuring the collection itself, for now enjoy these lookbook images.

Loser Machine Fall 2012 Lookbook

SoCal motorcycle apparel brand Loser Machine brings the goods with their fall 2012 collection. The line is small but tight with some good looking graphic tee’s, shirts and sweaters all with that moto vibe and overall dirtbaggery. Hit the jump for the rest.

Edwin Spring/Summer 2013 Lookbook

Edwin brings the realness with this lookbook for their forthcoming spring/summer 2013 collection. Some good old fashioned motorcycle road trip action seen here, with everyone clad in denim, Edwin denim at that. If my weekend coming up looks anything like this I will be a happy moto camper, literally. Read through for the rest of the images.

Lowside Mag

There’s a lot of good motorcycle mags out there, but most usually only champion one style of engine, which in turn vilifies everything else… not so much with Lowside. I picked up a few issues from Self Edge down in SF last week based on the strength of their cover imagery, and was super impressed with the content… a totally positive take on motorcycle customization, riding, and brotherhood, the mag has great writing and even better photography, covering all mc subcultures from choppers through to cafes. Hit their online shop to subscribe or cop a piece of apparel; support dudes documenting the passion for everything motorcycle, regardless of what you ride.
