Sitka Spring 2013 Collection Video – Close to Home

Vancouver Island based Sitka has just released the new video edit for their upcoming spring 2013 collection titled Close to Home. The video was shot on location on Vancouver Island exploring the natural beauty that surrounds it. The collection itself takes its inspiration from classic Canadiana styles and 70′s workwear. The spring 2013 collection also includes some notable collaborations with Vancouver based Color Magazine, Tofino surf shop Storm and a skate collection with Sitka team rider Chris Haslam. Great video for an impressive looking collection.

4 Horsemen Supplies x Viberg Hiker

We are pleased to give you the first full look at the 4 Horsemen Supplies x Viberg Hiker Boot. This is the third collaboration between the two Victoria-based companies, with the Service Boot and Saddle Oxford being the previous two. This time around they decided to flip the script on the classic Viberg Hiker by using the 2030 last (same one as the 4HS x Viberg Service Boot), which is a touch slimmer than the traditional Hiker last. They removed the Thinsulate liner, used an unconstructed toe with a reverse Peanut color bullhide upper slammed on a Vibram 2021 sole in sand color with the classic red hiker lace, with an extra set of leather laces as well. The boot was designed as an around-town hiker with a slimmed down profile and more lighter weight and feel than the traditional style. We are always happy to work with these two companies, and even happier with the outcome of their efforts, beautiful looking, hand-made boots designed and made in our backyard. Look for these to drop towards the end of this week and contact Four Horsemen direct for more info on details and release dates.*

Viberg Boots: Right Down to the Brass Tacks

Here are some great behind-the-scenes images from the Viberg Boots factory nestled on Herald St. right here in Victoria B.C. No product shots or sales pitch here, just some class photos documenting the process that is undertaken to manufacture some of our favourite boots. Beautiful shots, especially love all the the brass tacks lying around.

Four Horsemen x Viberg Service Boot

Our friends over at the Four Horsemen Shop have teamed up with another hometown favorite in Viberg to produce these beautiful service boots. The boot is directly inspired from a service boot that was originally produced by Viberg over 50 years ago. The guys from 4H decided to run with that silhouette and add a few different features to make it truly unique. The boot consists of a black Buffalo leather upper, contrast leather sole, vibram #269 sole and a dead-stock Cats Paw heel. The boots were released today, Monday Nov. 8th, so head over to Four Horsemen to grab yourself a pair and keep reading to check the boot in detail…

Viberg Boots Fall/Winter 2009

viberg

Victoria’s very own Viberg Boot company has just released their fall/winter collection of the highest quality work/fashion boots. The company was started in 1931 by the Viberg family who immigrated to Canada from Sweden, then relocated to set up shop on Herald St. in our hometown of Victoria BC, Canada. They have a rich history in boot making, utilizing a 218 step construction process using only the finest materials sourced from all over the globe. With the ongoing heritage brand revival right now it is nice to see one of our local companies becoming more popular in the fashion realm. Viberg boots have a solid following in Japan doing collaborations with the likes of Neighborhood. The collection is looking solid with my favourites being the hiking styles and the heelless flat soled models, especially the brown suede ones. It is really nice to see a local company with an extensive history gaining notoriety in the fashion community for what they are known for, making high quality boots.
